  • The library is a wonderful place to focus and get your work done. A lot of professors have their courses’ textbooks on hold at the library, which you can check out for an hour or so while you’re there. Quiet group work and collaboration is the main focus of the second floor of the library, where you also go to check out books or other resources like anatomy models. The third floor is “silent,”  where you can go individually or even with a friend to focus on getting your work done. The best part about the library is that it’s normally open until midnight, perfect for people who like to work in the evening and on.

Study Rooms:

  • The library also offers study rooms that can be checked out for two hours at a time, and you can renew those two hours as long as nobody is waiting on a room.
  • There are a total of seven rooms: four on the first floor, and three on the third floor. They can be checked out at the desk on the second floor.
  • Each study room has a whiteboard with markers and erasers available to check out.
  • Studying in your dorm room, especially with other roommates can be very unproductive, so study rooms are a good place to go for minimal distractions.

Professor Office Hours:

  • When it comes to office hours professors are required to have set times when they will be in their office. You can find these times and locations on the syllabus given to you at the beginning of the semester.
  • If these times do not work for you, you can email them to ask them to meet at another time, most professors are very flexible when it comes to meeting times.
  • When you go, be prepared to ask questions and be enthusiastic, your professor will notice and they will know that you care about class.
  • Most importantly, don’t be afraid, your professors will always be more than happy to help.
