Juniors Advice:

Kristof, a junior studying marine entrepreneurship at UNE, stresses the importance of doing your homework and turning it in on time. It’s not that hard and in the long run as much as you want to party and have fun, you just have to do your work and once you get all of it done, then go out and have a good time, just be responsible. Another thing Kristof feels is important is thinking about your major. UNE offers a wide range of majors, and minors, and if you feel that your original major is not for you, you can change it to something better suited for you. Another piece of advice is the importance of going to class and just realizing how big of an investment college is. You should get every penny out of it, and everytime you miss class you’re just throwing your, or your parents, money right down the drain. The final words of wisdom that Kristof would like to impart is simply to enjoy your time here because there’s a lot to learn beyond just schoolwork, and you may just make lifelong friends.

Morgan, a junior studying nursing at UNE, would like students to know the importance of going to all of your classes on time and the importance of taking your time to make neat and organized notes. If you are more of a visual learner, like Morgan, you could color code certain notebooks or binders to different subjects so it is easier to distinguish them. She also wants to let incoming students know that it may be scary at first coming into a brand new environment and it may be hard to make friends, but as scary as it may be, try to reach out and talk. Morgan isn’t the biggest of talkers herself, but she stresses the importance of finding people you are comfortable with. If you want to be in a big group you could be in a  big group and vice versa for a small group, basically find a group of supportive friends and stick with them. The last thing Morgan would like to add is the importance of having fun, she recommends going out and joining clubs and doing fun activities, do what you like as you came here not only to learn, but to have some fun as well, so do that.
