Tracking the brand:

Week 1:

This was posted on Instagram by @oldtownwatercraft on 9/16/2023, the video itself is very scenic and draws in the viewers attention. After the attention is grabbed, the viewers eyes then shift down to the text, which reads “What was your favorite adventure of 2023?” I believe this to be a very good marketing ploy because after the viewer reads the question, it makes them think of a really fun time they had, and then that fun time gets subconsciously associated with the brand. I cannot wait to keep tracking this brand and see how it shifts and grows.

Week 2:

This was posted on Instagram by @oldtownwatercraft on 9/18/2023, the pictures depict a family using an Old Town canoe as a picnic table. This post makes the viewers mouth water by drawing them in with delicious looking food, and also show how you can use one of their canoes as a makeshift table while camping. This post also helps depict that Old Town is an American made brand, made in Maine, this also is a good marketing technique. Keep following to see what next week brings us.

Week 3:

This was posted on Instagram by @oldtownwatercraft on 10/2/2023, the post is of a bow hunter using his Old Town Canoe to get to his hunting spot. This post shows the versatility of these canoes and shows how even the average hunter could use a new Old Town canoe to up their hunting game. Not only does the canoe look good, but the scenic views really put the icing on the cake. Keep following to stay up to date with the brand and see how they grow.

Week 4:

This was posted to Instagram by @oldtownwatercraft on 10/4/2023, the post a fly tying demonstration for a popular fly called a Pheasant Tail Nymph. This video shows a step by step process on how to tie one of the most versatile flies in history, that will be sure to catch you some fish. This post is advertising more to it’s fisherman followers, however it also shows growth in the industry as, compared to men, not a lot of females know how to fly fish, let alone tie their own flies and this video demonstrates a lawless execution of a nymph by @beadhead_flyfishing, who is a registered fly fishing guide in Maine. Overall, this post stood out to me because I am an avid fisherman and fly fish on occasion and would like to get more into it. I also have a fly tying kit and use videos just like this to learn how to tie new flies and I will be sure to use this video to try and replicate that pristine version of a nymph. Keep following to stay up to date with Old Town and continue to track their growth.

Week 5:

This was posted to Instagram by @oldtownwatercraft on 10/26/2023, the post is about the recent mass shooting in Lewiston Maine. Being a Maine company themselves, Old Town has many loyal customers all around Maine and they are showing their remorse and love for all the people families involved in the incident. This post stood out to myself in specific because I go to UNE in Biddeford, Maine, and I have many friends and peers in the surrounding areas and this event was so bad that school was cancelled for the next day because the shooter was still active out and about. This scared a lot of my friends, and myself, and seeing this post, and many others like it, made me feel bit safer and better about continuing to live here in Maine and I just hope that nothing like this happens again, anywhere in the world. Continue following to stay up to date with Old Towns social media posts.

Week 6:

This post was from 11/1/2023 by @oldtownwatercraft and, not only does it have a visually appealing eye catching image, but the caption also gives well needed advice to any canoe owner who doesn’t know how to store their watercraft properly In specific, canoes can warp and bend out of shape from being stored improperly. This is an important because a warped canoe could affect how straight and aerodynamic your canoe will be while taking it for a row. They also include a link to their website that gives informative tips and instructions on how to properly store your watercraft. This post stood out to me because of the stunningly beautiful image, however I actually learned a thing or two about how to properly store my own watercraft.
